#POST 28

Pull The Plug Presents!

So I listen to a radio show every week, yes a radio show. Not a podcast, or a live U-Stream, just plain Jane old school radio. It plays all acoustic music from 10 PM – 1 AM. I actually look forward to it every week and try my hardest to never miss a show. The best part is the lame talking that usually makes me want to kick kittens when the music isn’t playing is actually hilarious. There are no advertisements that make me want to avoid their products and no annoying promos. Just hilarious stories, intro-jingles and sometimes if we’re lucky; live music. Last Saturday, they had a live show and it was amazing. Live acoustic music is just—amazing. I can’t even describe it. It’s so true to the soul, whether they’re singing from the heart or singing for the fun of it. It’s such a welcoming environment I love it!

Here are the very few pictures I took of the night:

FASHION | THE PLAID AND THE FALL

Can I just take a minute to say, 'Why HELLO plaid, you just seem to fit in with everyone!'
Well I think that a great jacket, jeans and the versatile plaid shirt can be a great asset in any situation. And plaid in the fall? Ugh, there isn't enough words in this world to describe how much I love this combination.
This is Mike, in a plaid shirt, a gorgeous fall jacket and some ripped jeans.

If you don't think that fall is not one of the most beautiful seasons, you need to leave my blog right now. Fall is so beautiful and has such a warm welcoming feeling to the season. Also, fall fashion was always my favourite.

If you noticed, yes this is legit--Mike here is wearing bedroom slippers.

It’s an interesting trend I've been noticing at the college. Pretty much everyone wears their slippers as if they were actual shoes. I was very ‘um…what the hell?’ at first, but after you get used to the idea its not actually all that weird. I mean if you live in residence, would you really need shoes? Some kids show up to class in their pyjamas, and we’ve come to accept that; to be honest I rather someone show up to my class in bedroom slippers verses their pj’s.

Anyways, back to this picture. This was taken right outside of the college doors. It was a wonderful day to take pictures so I thought I would take advantage of it.

I don’t know if you can see it, but Mike here is also wearing a ‘I Love Boobies’ rubber band bracelet.

The bracelet is part of the ‘Keep a Brest’ campaign by LoserKids clothing.
The bracelet is part of the ‘Keep a Brest’ campaign by LoserKids clothing. The bracelets really go with everything and anything, I even have one. They come in a ton of different colours and are great for everyday wear. It’s very gender friendly and for a good cause, why not? If you want to buy one of these baby's go HERE! You can also get them at your local mall at most Boat House clothing stores if you live here in the wonderful province of Ontario.

Now I don't remember if I had talked about it here, but we did this little shoot on the Fanshawe campus. There is a lot of open space and trees at Fanshawe. It was a lovely surprise to discover these landscapes for future photo seshes. I mean, he looks like he's in the country out in the middle of nowhere! Fanshawe for the win!

FASHION|THE VERSATILE DRESS

My first outfit post! So I have no idea how to articulate this type of post, but here I go trying...
So this is Beth.

I had Beth stand around my condo area; in about next to nothing as I took pictures of her with my crappy blue camera. Said camera is now missing, by the way. Anyways, I had her in one outfit the entire ‘shoot’. She was wearing a dress that could be worn to literally anything be it fancy, or just to hang around in. So this post is basically about how you can take one piece of clothing and recycle it for a few occasions.

For a fancy outing with this dress, I paired it with a thin grey belt, a few random black and sliver bracelets and a cute little pendant necklace, oh and killer heels. The heels are silver, but are reflective with the light.
This was the only picture I could get with the full outfit...
I personally think that the thin belt makes it a wee bit classier. The belt was bought at a hardcore catholic thrift store for 50 cents. You could pair this classy version of the versatile grey dress with any colour of bando/thank top. I personally liked the blue on Beth so we went with that for the 'shoot' but I would go for a more neutral colour for fancy events.

So as I said, the shoes were quite reflective, so when I tried to take a decent picture of them they looked green due to the grass. They are actually silver. I these shoes would would work great with a pair of dark skinny jeans or with cute short bold coloured summer dresses.

Another great accessory is a great leather jacket. This jacket looks great as a fancy jacket as well as a stylish everyday wear. Which brings us to the mix up, the everyday look version of thus dress.

Everything looks sexier with a leather jacket!

From Fancy to Chillin, just like that!

So for the hanging out version of this dress, I traded the heels for some ankle boots and the thin belt for a thick one. You could also work this with some leggings and flats. The combinations are really endless with this dress really.

So the accessories for this more casual look are these fabulous ankle boots:
And a thick belt:
I feel that the thicker belt just seems more relaxed, less constriction and a lot more fun than a thin one. You could even play up the colours and styles of the belt. Depending on how you're wearing the dress, a belt can make a huge difference. For example, a shine-tasic belt while going clubbing would look way better than a nuetral coloured one would look. Belts are often the key to transforming outfits from Plain Jane to Dannng!

So the last thing I would like to say about this photoshoot with Beth, is her makeup.

All I really did, was made giant <>'s to the corners and creases of her eyes with a black eye shadow blending with a brown towards her nose, then filled in the insides with a fun reddish copper colour to make her eyes pop a bit. A bit of eyeliner on the lid of her eye and mascara later, she looked ready to rock and roll!

Anywho, I would like to take this second to thank Beth for putting up with this silliness. She does make a far better model than I do though!

Doesn't she?

#POST 21

So I haven't done a post in a while. So here is a random post of pictures of my self in a bright pink sparky shirt (that I've cut up and sewn) and some intense blue and black eye makeup.

See? On Stalker book, I have named it 'Blue on Black--The Bombshell's Back'

I'm not gonna lie though, I love acting as if I can model and being gangster all at the same time. Actually that was a lie, I just have no clue how to pose for a camera. Thus why my next post will have a model. A white girl named Beth. I'm pretty excited for her to be joining my blog as just that because, well look at that. -->
I'm more than confident that it speaks for it's self.
See that ring? See that blurb? --

If you've noticed, I'm wearing a double ring. Let me give you a pointless background story on this here ring. My good friend Melissa bought it for me for my birthday. She took me out to the mall to pick them out for my self because she didn't know my ring size and because she wasn't sure what I would like. (Although I do have this knack for turning random stuff into fashionably wearing) Anyways, weeks passed and BAM it was my birthday, but she forgot the gift. No big deal, so she'd just get them to me another time. A good month or two passes and by now I've forgotten completely about the gift all together. So when she finally gives them to me I am in shock and awe on how much I love the rings before she pointed out that I had picked them. True story. Wanna hear another one? I just wasted a good two minutes of your life right there. You're welcome.

However, on a separate note, I've been fiddling around more and more with photoshop. I'm very slowly getting the hang of it. This means that my future posts of my own bad photography will be coved up by my lame photoshop skills.

#POST 13 Camera Settings.

Now, if you are into photography, I apologize for my over excitement for these crappy photos.
But, moving on, isn't this so cool? I Think they are amazing. I found this Panoramic setting on my digital camera and it lets me take photos of  large places and spaces and people and things. Amazing isn't?

My Room, messy, but mine.
 Ground Level
Clothes, shoes, dolls, and towel
Bookshelves, Necklaces, Belts
The nook in my room where the above mentionables are.
My momma in the livingroom.
Me, in the place where my momma was, my sock and my living room.

Now on a different note, the 7 Deadly Makeovers project I'm doing will probably not be posted until next year (only a month) because of my lack of commitment, I want to do and take pictures of all 7 makeovers  at once and upload them in 7 actual days. None of that upload one and upload the next in three months stuff. None at all. :)

#POST 05 Bub and Cheese

This is a post dedicated to my best friend Bub.

We are polar opposites. You can run and I can barley walk. I love style and you like whatever’s clean. We love dirty jokes and conversation. I don’t know how we got so close, because we are so contradictory.  You’re in university; I’m jobless and out of school. You’re born and raised here and you are the most foreign person I know. Foreign people are my biggest pet peeve (there I said it) thus you baffle me. I know you on a personal level, and about me you know just the bare basics. You are there for me when I let you, and I will always be here for you. You’re kind of my best friend and I find my self pondering why. Its not a bad thing, but thus it is a thing that is odd. My friendships never last, never survive hurricanes and tornados. They shrivel up and die in the whirl wind, but here you and I are four years strong. You are strong and I am weak. I am strong and you are weak. We balance each other out. We see each other through a weird coloured glass. I can’t begin to think about the horrors that would claim me if the natural causes do claim our friendship, your my best friend and I never want to lose you.
